In Washington, U.S. fighter jets were dispatched on Saturday in response to an incursion into restricted airspace in Delaware by a civilian aircraft. This incident occurred while U.S. President Joe Biden was at his residence in Wilmington, as reported by Anthony Guglielmi, the chief of communications for the United States Secret Service, according to Fox News.
The unauthorized civilian aircraft breached restricted airspace to the north of Wilmington shortly after 2 pm local time, as confirmed by Mr. Guglielmi. Fighter jets were scrambled as a precautionary measure, and the errant plane safely landed at a nearby airport.
Guglielmi stated, “Shortly after 2 pm, a civilian aircraft violated restricted airspace north of Wilmington, Delaware,” as reported by Fox News. Importantly, the President’s movements were unaffected by this airspace breach. An investigation into the incident has been initiated by agents from the Secret Service and the Federal Aviation Administration, as reported by Fox News.
