A 42-year-old man has tragically died following a fatal attack by a “dangerous fighting dog” in Stratford, east London.
Police were called to Shirley Road at 4:53 a.m. on December 4, after reports that the man had been seriously injured in the dog mauling.
He was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. A post-mortem will be conducted, and his family has been informed.
Detectives investigating the fatal attack have charged 32-year-old Leanne McDonnell, the owner of the dog.

McDonnell is charged with owning a dog dangerously out of control, causing injury resulting in death, failing in her duty to ensure the dog’s welfare, and possessing a fighting dog.
In connection with a separate incident, she faces three additional charges of owning a dog dangerously out of control but causing no injury on November 18.
The dog involved in the fatal attack and previous incidents has been seized by authorities. McDonnell was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on December 6.
